Hamilton, without a doubt.

Whatever you think about all the hype, and I for one hate all that media s**t, he went through his first F1 season in fine style.

In his rookie year he had four wins, his first nine races were podium finishes, and he kept the car on the road more than any of the other real contenders.

He singularly failed to have a car destroying shunt in a whole season's racing (unlike the teammate who wanted him put down), and made virtually no rookie mistakes until the last two races. When he did get it wrong he offered no excuses, simply stating that  "Everybody makes mistakes, and I messed up".

He managed to scare the living daylights out of all the top four drivers, and finish second in the WDC, in spite of all that the odious Max (I love Ferrari) Moseley threw at him and his team.

Hell, if he could do all that under extreme political pressure in his first season, there's going to be quite a lot of embarrassed silence from some around here in the not too distant future.

I was a staunch supporter of Herr Schumacher over the years, but I think we may have another racing genius in Lewis. Only time will tell, but I sure as hell am looking forward to the new season in a way I haven't experienced for about five years.

My driver of 2007, is certainly not Hamilton.
The majority of the drivers on the grid could have achieved the same result given his car.

It's a tie between 2 drivers for me.
Button & Raikkonen.

Button for his sheer incredible loyalty, patience, persistence, and dogged determination, and above all, skill, to drag that appalling dog of a Honda around for each race of 2007. And at the end of it all, still remain loyal and carry on for 2008.

Raikkonen for his supreme mastery skills for keeping the Ferrari on the tarmac in the slippery wet races, and cheekily taking the driver's championship from right under the sniveling, whimpering noses of the McLaren hypocrites.

Definitely Hamilton!

Watched him in GP2 in 2006 and was really looking forward to seeing him race with the big boys and race he did!

Les says "My driver of 2007, is certainly not Hamilton" Quell Suprise!

Surely the poll was 'Who was your driver of 2007?', not who wasn't Lol!

I admire Hamilton for his driving in 2007. Yes he made some mistakes early on, both on and off the track, but nonetheless and regardless of the car, he could very well have won it and has proved he has bags of talent.

But for me it has to be Kimi.

He drove relentlessly and in a car plagued by early season setbacks, when McLaren should have put it to bed, and showed a resilience I never thought he had. He just never gave up, never got involved in any slanging matches and conducted himself as a true champ throughout the season. He will I am sure now go on to capture more titles, including 2008, and just goes to show how mismanaged he was at McLaren. He is a happier man and more comfortable within himself and will be even more formidable in 2008.
