What!! Should retitle that list 'The Best British Fights of All Time'. Undoubtably some classics here but it so reflects modern day thinking/polls i.e. nothing existed before 20 yrs ago + resistance to waiting/building craft + word 'greatest' thrown around because someone a big fight. Boxers are supposed to win fights aren't they + winning a big fight is PART of the process towards BECOMING a 'great'.

What, NO Sugar Ray v Hearns? [Leonard by TKO r14] - remember 15 rounders?!

Even more stupid - NO Duran!!!

Sugar Ray v Duran I [Duran by narrow pts decision 15rounds]

Whilst I thoroughly enjoy watching the art of pugilism, I am shocked that two of your "greatest ever bouts" involve Gerard McLellan and Michael Watson. These men were seriously injured during these fights, and were a solid reminder that though entertaining, some unfortunate souls can have life changing experiences. There are many bouts involving Barry McGuigan, Jim Watt, Sugar Ray Leonard et al to show how good the game is. Perhaps next week you could show pit bulls fighting, given the lack of respect shown here.

Fighting is what men do.life is a risk putting yourself and your life on the line makes us feel alive.we  are born to live.

hagler vs hearns  was the best fight of all time it lived up to all the hype and then exeeded it.the first round was the greatest round in boxing history. recent superfights talk the talk but nobody walked the walk like these two guys.

Roberto Durant vs Sugar Ray Leonard is far and away THE best fight I've ever seen. 15 rounds of solid all out slogging, no slouching, no holding, no towels going in and absolutely no surrender. Up until that point I'd only ever watched bouts with British fighters, or Ali but this was like nothing I'd ever witnessed.

Disappointed not to see anything of Tyson in his raw prime, and no room for the classic Brits like Tom Conteh, Alan Minter and that Scottish bloke...?!

im astonished you havnt included what is argueably the greatest event in sporting history, the Joe Louis v Max Schmelling fight in 1938. Not just a clash of Boxers but a clash of civilizations, democracy v fascism (although schmelling was a somewhat reluctant figurehead but thats another story)
Joe had been stunned by schmelling in their first fight as schmelling noticed a weakness in Louis's technique, but in this fight Louis showed no mercy and destroyed his opponent in the first round. The fight was heard on radio all over the world by what then was an enormous audience. The fight of the century indeed.

in the early to middle nineties I was privileged to witness what I believe to be the greatest boxing match all time.

unfortunately I cannot remember the names of the fighters, where it took or what weight division it was for. all I can remember was it was a Russian against a Korean (I think) & for 12 solid they just went at each other like trains, so if anybody out there knows who I am talking about, I would be very grateful if they could let me know.

The best fight I remember watching live in my lifetime for absolute guts and determination from both fighters was Benn V McClellan. As durable as I thought Benn was I never thought he could tourn the fight around after he was  floored by McClellan. Terrible shame about the outcome though.

As an amateur boxer of 89 fights, the video I have watched the most and might be a better fight if your looking at tactics and skill. Ali V Foreman . As an amateur boxer I watched this at least 100 times  to inspire me and learn the art boxing. Ali was  a true genius .
