    • Can Harry's game work at the Toon?

Is Harry Rednapp the man to make things (finally) work at Newcastle? Or, should Saint Alan of Shearer swoop down from the commentary box and take charge?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address...

the thing is with alan shearer  he has zero experience he is like alan hanson talks a good game but hasn't got the bottle to take a managers job and put himself in the firing line. he's well past his sell by date like hanson about time he went away instead of thriving off past memories move over alan you are yesterdays news. or put up and take a managers job i don't think you will. go on prove me wrong.

Please please please NOT Redknapp! His team have a poor home record, another manager with supposed skeletons in the closet, doesn't want to move his family etc etc etc. The manager who takes the job needs to be living in the area 24/7 to understand the passion the people have for football. I agree with the point about Shearer - as long as he is hanging about the club his shadow will always be cast over whoever is in charge. If he wants the job he should publicly say so. Same as if he doesn't want it - say so and let the club and fans move on. No 3rd party comments lets hear it from the horses mouth.

As for Mclaren - if he gets the job i'm off to support Hartlepool. Poor record at club and international level. Robson was sacked at Boro and Mclaren left them further down the league than Robbo! And we all know the England story!!!!!

If a TOP LEVEL PROVEN manager cannot be found then it has to be somebody with previous knowledge of the club and area. The odds on a King Kev return are shortening all the time possibly with Shearer as a No2 learning the job.

Whoever gets the job has a massive job on his hands but the man who makes a success up here will forever be a hero. This time it has got to be RIGHT.

I will be forever grateful to messrs Hall and Shepard for taking the club from the depths of despair to within a whisker of winning the league but with the exit of big Sam their dynasty is over. Now is the time to move on and take Newcastle to another level.

King Kev to return and finish the job he started? Unlikely but isn't that what dreams are made of?

I am sick and tired of the Toon Army and Newcastle FC thinking they have some God given right to be or stay a top club. They talk about passion for their team as if no other fans in the world could be as passionate as them. They are wrong. Who ever goes to Newcastle must be nuts because if they do not win the League/FA cup/Champions League/Africa nations/World Cup, they will be hounded from their job and who needs that. Face up to facts you are just another has been club chasing the glory days and living in a dream world. Kegan was the best thing that happened to you and look how you treated him.

Doesn't matter now, does it!

He's blown a refreshing blast of loyalty over footie and decided to stay with Pompey, a team supported by people who actually appreciate being in the premiership and who don't consider it a God given right to be in Europe or to win trophies. Why would he want all that pressure on his shoulders? For us, Europe and silverware are goals, rather than an expectations.

Harry's comfy with Pompey and we're comfy with Harry, Europe, silverware or not!

Anyway, he would be more suited to the Liverpool job, because at least they've got a sense of humor!!

What was that I said in an earlier post about the odds on King Kev shortening all the time? The only one with the experience, knowledge, passion, the whole package! Look at how the players reacted in last nights game after the announcement of Keegans return. He will re ignite the flame that died when he left 11 years ago. PREPARE TO BE ENTERTAINED!
