    • Derby - worst ever Premier League team
  • 131
  • 17-Apr-2008 12:49 PM

As the team that made it up to the Premier League through the playoffs, Derby had next to no chance of survival. They had less time to make signings before the season starts so are behind from the outset.

What's your opinion on Derby becoming the worst ever Premiership team - surely it's bad for the game to see the gulf between top and bottom ever-widening?

Yes - I'm a Derby fan and we are dreadful, lots of reasons to be sure but dreadful none the less. Its not like we are losing games 1 or 2 nil we are getting battered week after week and we never look like winning any matches. One thing though the fans have been great and at least this unpleasent season has paid off our debts so it has had its benifits.

i'm a derby fan , and the answer to the question is no , i don't think we are the worst team at all we have just had a really bad season , the players and fans know we are a good team and we can bounce back with the support of the fans in which i think derby county have a fantastic fan base even though we have had alot of bad times this season , i will be supporting derby all the way and looking forward to the championships and the fight back to the premiership bring it on boys....

I too am a Rams fan and it has been a very painful season, we have been outclassed on too many occasions.

We have such low confidence throughout the playing staff, we cannot seem to win at all, even in cup competions against Championship sides.

I do believe we are no better off since getting rid of Billy Davies, although i don't miss his outbursts or comments about wishing he had achieved more success with PNE, rather than us.

I think  Jewell has a major job on next season, just look at Leicester,Sheff Wed. and Southampton, all big clubs struggling.

He needs a steady start next season, getting a winning mentality back for the players and supporters, then we can attract a better quality of player than we already have.

Our consolation for the season is we had a cracking day at Wembley last May, we tasted the Premier League, we hopefully have a supportive board, and whatever money we generate, can and will be spent a litltle more wisely than last time.

COME ON YOU RAMS !!

Unfortunately you are the worst. After having looked at the points Tallies I can see that my Team Swindon are well up the list. Derby will always be one of those teams who will be top of the championship and botom or the premier. I have taken interest in Derby this season and they have at times played some good football but just like Swindon and all the others go to sleep during certain periods. At least you have a good stadium and large fans base. Nowadays the likes of SWINDON who are rubbish are averaging crowds of 5 - 6 thousand; they have no chance. At least you fans at Derby will get to the premier ship again in perhaps 2 years like west brom have done.  Good Luck to you and all the others who get there.

I'm a forest fan and although I wanted the Rams to get relegated, to have them being classed as the worst team ever is just the icing on the cake. I thought forest had some pretty dire experiences in the top flight but none so humiliating as your season so far.

Maybe we will meet next season, although the chances of us making it through the play offs are just as dire...Calderwood OUT!!!!

I am a Manchester United fan but have to admit my deepest admiration for the Derby County supporters who have kept going and supporting their team throughout a bad season.Well done to all of you .

I agree. Derby fans have impressively continued to support their team throughout this dreadful season for them, and I do admire them for that, but you must admit that they are pants. How they got to even the Championship is beyond me. I sense that if they don't get their act together in the next couple of seasons, they may well be saying cheerio to the Football League. That would be funny.

                                       COME ON YOU GUNNERS!
